Where are you located?

I currently provide telehealth via Zoom or the phone, with the option for monthly in-person meetings at my office in San Francisco’s Hayes Valley neighborhood.

What are your fees?

For a standard, 50 minute session, I charge $190.

With EMDR therapy, it’s sometimes more efficient and effective to do longer sessions. My rates for these are:
$225 for 60 minutes
$280 for 75 minutes
$340 for 90 minutes

Do you take insurance?

I’m not in network with any insurance companies. But if you have a PPO plan, you may be eligible to have a portion of the fee reimbursed (as an out-of-network benefit). Please let me know if that’s something you’d like to do.

Do you work with couples?

Couples are not my specialty, but I will happily recommend some wonderful couples therapists if you’re interested

What kind of commitment should I expect to make to therapy?

Every person is different. Some come to therapy with a specific goal in mind, and once they reach it, they are ready to move on. Others are working on long-standing patterns, healing wounds from childhood, or wanting support in their growth and expansion and they prefer a more open-ended approach.

Once we’ve decided we are a good fit, I recommend that you commit to weekly sessions for one year and then re-evaluate at the end of it.

If you’re coming in for EMDR therapy, our trajectory may look a little different. With so-called “single-incident traumas,” people often experience positive results in 8-10 sessions. However, many people have more complex histories and may need longer-term EMDR therapy. We will discuss this as part of our treatment planning.

How do I know if you’re the right therapist for me?

That’s a great question! The fit between therapist and client is one of the most important factors in a successful therapy. I suggest that you go with your gut on this question. Follow what your feelings are telling you. Is there something you like about my words? My picture? How do you feel when we talk on the phone? What’s it like to sit with me in a room? Do I seem like someone who gets you? LIke someone you could come to like and trust?

Do you give homework?

Sometimes. My therapy style is very present-moment oriented, so most of our work will happen in the room. I often give people suggestions of what to pay attention to in themselves as they’re going about the week. Sometimes I do find it helpful to give a worksheet or something to read and think about between sessions. I also have a few guided meditations that you can download and listen to on your own time.
