Kristina

Born and raised on the East Coast, I am the first-generation offspring of French and Swedish immigrants. I studied English Literature at the University of Pennsylvania and received my Master’s in Counseling Psychology from John F. Kennedy University.

Before becoming a psychotherapist, I worked as a tech journalist, and as a freelance writer, dabbling in everything from gadget reviews to adapting Japanese Manga for American readers. I also studied and practiced massage therapy, which inspired my interest in the mind-body connection and Somatic approaches to psychotherapy.

I came to counseling and psychotherapy through my own experiences of healing and integration with therapy, mindfulness, and other transformation work. I love being a psychotherapist because I am constantly challenged to grow and learn. For me, it is an honor to be let in to my clients’ inner worlds and to witness and support them in their struggles, their hopes, and their own transformations.

Freddie

Freddie is a ten pound shih-tzu mix who was found on the street in San Leandro and brought to the East Bay SPCA. Although his origins are a mystery, he is wonderfully calm and friendly, and a natural co-therapist. His approach to the work is all about love, acceptance, and being in the present moment. Freddie enjoys napping, having his tummy rubbed, chasing balls (after hours, of course), and smelling everything the world has to offer.
